Hours, slots and tables
Playtime opens at 10 am every day. It closes at 1 am Sunday to Tuesday and at 2 am Wednesday to Saturday. Holiday hours are not published, so a phone call is the check. The slot floor holds more than 400 slot games. A separate $1 slot area carries the Dollar Dreams Progressive Jackpot slots.
Live play runs on 16 table games, on the top floor next to MATCH. Tables open at noon Monday to Thursday and at 11 am Friday to Sunday, then run until close. The featured games are Blackjack, Double Deck Blackjack, 3 Card Poker, Baccarat, Electronic Baccarat, Fast Action Poker, Live and Electronic Roulette and Ultimate Texas Hold'em. Table limits are not published. Chances, on Springfield Road, lists 14 live tables.
The lakefront building
Gateway describes the casino as located in the Grand Okanagan Lakefront Resort and Conference Centre on Okanagan Lake. The Hotel item in the casino's menu links to the Delta Hotels Grand Okanagan Resort, a Marriott property. No room count is published. Groups are welcome: buses can park on site, and tours book through Guest Services at 250-860-9467.
For special occasions, the casino lists a private room off the casino floor. Playtime says its facility is accessible to customers with disabilities. Wheelchairs, accessible formats and communication supports are available on request.
Lake City Casino before 2018
Before 2018 the casino traded as Lake City Casino, and it had been at the Water Street site for almost 19 years. Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited, which runs it, rebranded it as Playtime Casino Kelowna. The grand opening came on March 1, 2018, after a $3.6 million renovation. That work added MATCH Eatery & Public House and a new poker room. It also moved the table games to the top floor, next to MATCH.
Getting in and parking
Entry is for guests 19 and older. Since June 26, 2023, every person entering a B.C. casino must show government-issued photo ID. Security scans it and checks it against the list of people restricted from entering, such as those enrolled in Game Break. Playtime refuses entry to people enrolled in the program. For people who are let in, the system does not save personal information.
Parking is free for casino guests in the GREEN zone of the covered parkade. Two entrances are open daily: Water Street, and the Causeway entrance just off the parkade. By bus, route 2 North End Shuttle stops at Water St at Cawston Ave, about 25 m from the casino. Route 5 Gordon / Downtown stops on Ellis St at Clement Ave, about 260 m away.
